Truecaller which is an app for identifying spam calls is starting its own messaging service as it has developed its app for chatting. The company has announced that it will be inducing the feature for chatting in its iOS and Android apps. The service is already active in the beta version of Android. The move of stepping into the messaging services by Truecaller comes after their debut in payment services. India is the largest Market for Truecaller with respect to the number of users. Company had acquired startup named Chillr in the month of June.
Along with the ability of bill payments and user to user transfers, the company is also planning to integrate the services of third parties in there app. The newly added feature by the company will prove to be handy for its users. According to some of the resources from the company, the messaging service of Truecaller will work in a way similar to iMessage by Apple. All the messages it will be transacted through the app will be free of cost. The message will go as well SMS to the users who are not using the service.
Truecaller has also said that its decision of adding the messaging feature into its app will help the company to combat the fake news. The company will be adding machine learning and artificial intelligence into the system or rectifying the fake news. The company will be relying towards immunity for the reporting of the links. The company will not be employing any of specially assigned fact checkers. The service will be provided in all markets throughout the globe but the company will be focusing more over Indian Market. WhatsApp on the other hand is shifting from its chatting service to payment services. It claims to have more than 200 million active users all across India.
