Reliance Jio and WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned firm, has begun a drive to teach individuals with reference to employing the mobile messaging platform sensibly on their Jio Phones. Beginning October 9, Jio and WhatsApp would go to 10 cities in diverse states comprising Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for street plays and rivet users to guide them on positive and meaningful conduct of WhatsApp use.
In a statement, a WhatsApp spokesperson said, “Jio has a significant role in driving the digital revolution in India by giving power to millions of Indians. We’re thrilled to… assist in organizing a drive that teaches individuals on how to converse in an easy and safe manner.”
WhatsApp has been introduced by Reliance Jio on Jio Phone, its 4G feature device, in September. The firms have collectively created video tutorials and educational booklets, accessible in Jio Stores and online in 11 Indian languages comprising Bengali, Marathi, and Hindi. WhatsApp has a monthly active user base of more than 200 Million in the country and is among the most famous mobile apps across the world.
Moreover, recently, WhatsApp has also launched “Swipe to Reply” feature, as per WABetaInfo report, for its Android beta application users. In the previous month, the website mentioned that the feature is in progress. Apparently, at present, it has been made accessible for WhatsApp Android beta variant 2.18.300. This feature is analogous to the one already accessible on the iOS version and allows users to respond rapidly to a message with a swipe.
The “Swipe to Reply” of WhatsApp will enable the users to swipe a message toward the right side that they wish to respond, which will directly launch the conversation in the reply context. Implying, the users won’t require to long press a chat message and tap on the reply icon to respond to a particular message in a group or chat.
